22 calypsonians to battle in the semi-finals

Twenty-two calyposonians from five calypso tents have been selected from the calypso preliminaries to take part in the calypso semi-finals scheduled for Friday, June 22 at the Victoria Park, commencing at 8:00 p.m.{{more}}

Securing the most picks, seven, was the On Tour Calypso Tent, with Abijah, Reality, Zion I, Azara, Queen B, Ipa and Vibrating Scakes being selected.

The Upstage Experience was next in terms of the number of picks, with Skarpyon, Brother Ebony, Joy C, Poorsah and Fya Empress getting the judges’ nod.

Man Zangie, Hero, Sunny Banks and Bump I from the Graduates Calypso Tent will go through to the next round, with Ras X, I-madd and Rejector being selected from the New York based Dynamites Calypso Tent.

The final three selectees are Dia, Mystery and Parry from the Ptani Calyso Tent.

There are two reserves in Defoe and Sulle.

These Calypsonians are invited to meet with representatives of the CDC this afternoon at the CDC’s Office commencing at 5:00 p.m.
