This year LIME has partnered with the St Vincent Brewery Limited to give back to its loyal customers in a promotion like no other.
Hundreds of fans flooded the Victoria Park to enjoy performances from a combination of local and regional acts.
Those in attendance were entertained by the likes of Skarpyon, First Lady, Poorsah, who gave the appreciative crowd a taste of his 2012 production, Bomani, the LIME Soca Dans, particularly Luta and his prodigy, Briggs, all backed by the band Knetics.
Jamaican Dancehall artiste Khago thrilled the audience with a few of his big hits, but Barbadian band Krosfyah stole the show, performing last and performing a few of their popular hits and impressing the crowd by doing a range of vintage Vincy music from the past, including hits originally performed by veteran Vincentian Calypsonian Winston Soso.
âThis activity is really about giving back,â Leslie Jack, General Manager of LIME told SEARCHLIGHT.
So, all the customers who would have participated in the various Carnival related activities thus far were given the opportunity to be part of the big celebration, Jack explained.
âItâs an activity that we would normally have at Heritage Square, but because of the nature of the activity and the fact that it has been growing, we decided to bring the activity here (Victoria Park),â he continued.
Jack further explained that the night also featured two new brands by two major companies – LIME launching its 357 promotion, which he said was an extra large proposition, being 60 cents cheaper than the competitor and they have added two minutes more and the Brewery officially launching the Presidente beer, known as the taste of the Caribbean.
âAnd LIME representing 13 islands throughout the islands, itâs no better brand to do this unified type of promotion,â the GM said.
Jack announced that there were more Carnival related events coming up including LIME H2O and the Carnival Monday T-shirt band, where the company has once again partnered with Presidente.
In terms of music, Jack said commended the local talent, saying that the music this year so far has been on point.
A couple of tracks have already been released from members of the Soca Dans and according to Jack, fans can expect more to come.
The reigning Soca Monarch Delroy âFiremanâ Hooper is still to release his 2012 production, but LIMEâs General Manager said that it is expected to be released soon and that it sounds very different.
âSo, I am looking to see how St Vincent and the Grenadines responds to that,â Jack said. (DD)
