The Beauty Shop celebrates its fourth anniversary

As the Beauty Shop prepares to celebrate its 4th anniversary on May 15, owner/manager Sylvanie Little is accrediting all her success to God.{{more}}

“As the owner of a business, I am encouraging others not to give up. It’s a hard fight, but through it all, God will make a way for you,” Little told SEARCHLIGHT, during a visit to the establishment yesterday.

The hairstylist, with 15 years experience, explained that she has worked and trained with some of the top salons in St Vincent, before venturing off on her own on May 15, 2008.

The staff includes three hair stylists and one nail technician.

For the women who want to make sure their hands and nails are in impeccable condition, Yinca Goodluck will take care of them.

Goodluck, a nail technician, joined the staff in October, 2010.

According to Goodluck, “the service to customers at The Beauty Shop cannot be compared.”

She explained that since joining The Beauty Shop team, she has managed to further develop her skills, not only as a nail technician, but also in hairdressing, thanks to the rest of the staff.

“When I first started, it was somewhat daunting, because everyone else had more experience than I. However, I was encouraged by the others and it’s been great since.

“We like a family here,” she said.

Another member of staff is Nikeisha Craigg, who specializes in braiding, relaxing, treating and coloring of the hair.

“Every business will have its ups and downs, but it’s pretty good here,” she said.

Nakeisha Mayers is the youngest of the four employees at The Beauty Shop and has been employed for just over one year.

Apart from shampooing and locking hair, Nakeisha lends her assistance to her fellow employees in other areas of the business.

She explained that her time at the salon has been a learning experience, while she enjoys doing what she does best.

“It is fun learning new things and getting better at what you do best,” she said.

SEARCHLIGHT spoke with two customers who both expressed satisfaction with the service they receive at the Beauty Shop.

“I started coming here when they had just established at this location. The service is good, especially the owner; she is very cautious and very good at what she does. I really like coming here.

“I don’t go anywhere else,” the client said.

“I look for a clean environment and as you can see it is very comfortable here. I come here every two weeks and I am satisfied,” another customer, Natasha De Freitas, said.

With beautiful smiles, Little and the rest of her staff joined their voices to thank their many valued customers for their support and continued patronage.
