Tezuka requests SVG support for Japan’s candidacy on United Nations Security Council…
Japanâs new Ambassador to St Vincent and the Grenadines, based in Port of Spain, Yoshimasa Tezuka, presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne on Thursday, April 19.{{more}}
The Ambassador also met and held discussions with Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs, Dr Douglas Slater, on a range of issues relating to the bilateral relations between St Vincent and the Grenadines and Japan. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the continued excellent relations between both countries and requested the support of St Vincent and the Grenadines for Japanâs candidacy on a number of international bodies, among them the United Nations Security Council, the Appellate body of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The Minister, in his turn, promised to examine Japanâs requests and communicate when final decisions are made. He also took the opportunity to speak on national issues of importance for which Japanese assistance was being sought, among them airport development, renewable energy programmes, funding for micro enterprises and investments in other areas of productive enterprise.
