For the past ten days or so, the prime minister has been receiving medical
care in Barbados, after he fell ill, while travelling to the Middle East on official duties.
A release from Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Douglas Slater said the prime minister was discharged from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on April 23.
He, however, remained in Barbados during the course of this week for any necessary follow-up medical care and so that he could continue to rest.
Gonsalves was admitted to the hospital last weekend, where he had surgery to drain an abscess which had formed as a result of a skin infection.
