Daniel writes a handbook for novice lovers

Multitalented Vincentian social activist and endurance walker Earl ‘Ole George’ Daniel has another entry to his long list of accomplishments.{{more}}

Last Saturday evening, Daniel launched his first book at the Friends of Crown Heights Centre in Brooklyn New York

The 96-page publication, titled ‘Practical Approaches to Lovemaking – A Handbook for Novice Lovers’, is Daniel’s first book, but will not be his last, according to him. Daniel said that the book was some years in making, as he was inspired to write it based on his experiences as a talk show host in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). A Canadian trained social worker, Daniel returned to SVG after a decade in Canada. Upon returning home, he hosted two radio call-in shows dealing with relationships and family issues.

Last Saturday’s launch began with opening remarks by Joanne Legair, who organized the event, followed by remarks by promoter and radio personality Junior ‘Soca” Jones, who implored the modest gathering to support Daniel in his latest endeavor.

“Too often we find our people who excel and achieve get more support from outside than from at home. We have to support our own, and I am proud of Ole George for many his achievements throughout the years,” Jones said.

Patrons were treated to wine and cheese, while Daniel sold and signed copies of his book. Accompanying Daniel at the event to lend support, were his wife and son, as well as his mother and sister. Ole George told SEARCHLIGHT that his book was selling very well, “As a matter of fact, this book is selling itself,” an animated Ole George quipped.

The evening culminated with Daniel giving an overview of his current work as a social worker in the extreme cold northern area of Canada among the Inuit people. George also spoke of his record shattering six-day nonstop dance to a captive audience followed by a question and answer session. Ole George’s next book will be an autobiography chronicling his life as a social worker and his feats in endurance walking, with the fitting title ‘The Social Walker.
