Gurley claims he never set foot in Bobb’s house

Sandford Gurley, the man who is accused of entering the home of Diane Bobb, naked and armed with a cutlass, is refuting claims that he ever set foot in the woman’s house.{{more}}

“Long time she have thing against me and is when I going home now, she just come and stab me in me belly just so…,” Gurley explained.

In the March 30 edition of SEARCHLIGHT, Bobb, a mother of four, explained that she stabbed Gurley after encountering him in her house just after 9:00 pm, on March 25, 2012, armed with a cutlass.

Bobb said she saw a person in a stooping position in her house and when she called out, Gurley stood up and brandished a cutlass and said to her “either ah f… you or yo life.”

The woman said she then grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed Gurley twice in the stomach before she ran to neighbours for help.

Bobb had been briefly detained by police, but was released shortly after.

However, Gurley is singing a different tune.

He told SEARCHLIGHT that he was on his way home from his relative’s shop, shortly after 9:00 pm on March 25.

“After leffing from by my family shop going home, this lady attack me and stab me in me belly just so,” Gurley said.

The 35-year-old man further explained that he lives close to Bobb and there is only a dirt road separating both houses.

“When I walking going home now, all I see is just ah flash from a phone and de knife. I never go in the woman house,” Gurley said.

Gurley explained that he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

He added that there has been a history of bad blood between him and Bobb.

“Sometime ago, she say ‘yo war bet I f… yuh up in this place here’ and me ain’t do she one thing. I does be talking to myself plenty and them does think is them I talking to,” Gurley added, as he showed the plasters on his stomach covering the stab he sustained.

His sister Metris Gurley says she is also baffled as to why her brother is being accused of something that he did not do.

“They haven’t charged him for anything. No police didn’t even visit him while he was in hospital…,” Gurley said.

Gurley said her brother is in the habit of cursing people for no reason at all.

“You ain’t even have to trouble him, he will just start cursing just so; probably they must be does feel he cursing them,” she said.

The woman also indicated that she is seeking legal advice for her brother. (KW)
