Lemore knew he would die, so made his part straight

Lemore Pierre knew he was not going to make it; so he made his part straight.{{more}}

So says his longtime girlfriend Lenore Harry.

Harry, who spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, February 8, two days after Pierre succumbed to injuries sustained in a January 29 traffic accident in Layou, said that the 45-year-old Fitz Hughes resident was aware that he was not going to recover from his head, neck, lung and spinal injuries, and had found peace.

“He was a very spiritual man; he was not sad; he expected to die.”

Pierre, better known as ‘One Stone’, along with his friend Jex ‘La La’ Henville, also of Fitz Hughes, were struck by motor vehicle P 4760, driven by Glenroy Bobb of Questelles, who was travelling in the direction of Kingstown.

Both men were standing on the Layou main road waiting for transportation to take them home after playing friendly domino matches in that town.

Henville was taken off life support on the morning of Thursday, February 2, and died later that day.

According to Harry, Pierre also sensed that his friend had passed away.

Meanwhile, Pierre’s mother Ina said that although she is saddened by the passing of her son, and is having sleepless nights, she feels better that his life was claimed by an accident that any other way.

“I woulda feel different if he did die from a shooting or get chopped; but I satisfied with the fact that he get knocked down. I have to take it how it come,” she lamented.

Ina informed SEARCHLIGHT that Pierre, the fifth of six children and father of one son, will be laid to rest on Sunday, February 19, in Fitz Hughes.

Henville will be buried tomorrow.
