Women – Sissons paint seminar enlightening

Over sixty women here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are now better informed about painting, paint finishes and colour schemes.{{more}}

The women, mainly housewives, were participants in a one-day seminar organized by Coreas and Hazels Inc., which took place on Wednesday, November 9, at the company’s central office building conference room in Kingstown.

The one-day seminar, which is the first of its kind to be held here, was dubbed Sissons paints seminar for ladies.

During the sessions, the women were provided with information and live interactive demonstrations on how to become involved in doing their own painting using Sissions products. They are also now better educated on the wide range of Sissons products available.

Other topics discussed included colour psychology and colour scheming, which was done through a Power Point presentation. Decorative and faux paint finishes and special products and projects.

Roger Brathwaite, Colour Consultant, and Davison James, Production and Technical Manager at Sissons head office, based in Grenada, were the two overseas facilitators. Raphael Barbour of Coreas Hazells Inc was the other facilitator.

Brathwaite explained to SEARCHLIGHT that the initiative, which was first launched in January of this year in Grenada, is one that is very important to the company. He said it was a privilege to have the second phase in St. Vincent.

“A lot of our focus has been in Grenada. Some of what we did here today came out from customers’ survey that we did last year, and one of the things we noted was the need to empower people with more information…” he said.

He further noted that he was pleased with the response from the Vincentian women.

“There were a lot of women who came and who participated. The interest is really high, and people find the sessions very informative and very enlightening.”

A few of the participants also told SEARCHILGHT that the seminar was very informative and said they were impressed by the information that was passed on to them.(AA)
