CFL appoints Vincentian management team to run local operations

CFL SVG Holdings is now fully operational and is forging ahead with plans for the three supermarkets which fall under the company’s portfolio.{{more}}

Callistus Thompson is the General Manager of the entity which operates the two Aunt Jobes Supermarkets, (soon to be rebranded as Super J IGA supermarkets) and the Sav-A-Lot store (scheduled to open in November in the area formerly occupied by NP Food City).

Prior to this, Thompson was the Officer in Charge of NP Food City. In addition to his understanding of the dynamics of the St. Vincent retail market, Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Management Studies. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Vanessa Desouza joins the team in the capacity of Chief Accountant. Desouza is an Affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Like Thompson and Desouza, the rest of the CFL SVG Holdings team is all local and bring to the table a wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry. They include Shirlene Huggins(Accountant), Cleebert Ryan (Purchasing Manager), Alford Lynch, Lorene Charles and Shameika Marshall (Store Managers), Mesi Harrington and Julie-Ann Jones (Assistant Store Managers) and Euna Thompson as Administrative Assistant.

Thompson says he is pleased to have been given the responsibility of leading the CFL SVG team.

“The company is investing millions of dollars in this country at a time when the economic situation around the world is generally declining, and providing sustainable jobs for hundreds of Vincentians. I am confident that CFL SVG will provide added value and expertise to the retail sector in the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines market, utilizing the professional support available through Consolidated Foods Limited, Saint Lucia (parent company).”
