SVG mentioned in more Wikileaks cables

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has again been mentioned in leaked United States Embassy cables, published on the Wikileaks website.{{more}}

On Friday, August 26, several hundred cables, originating from the United States Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados, were released into the public domain.

Most of the cables published last Friday are routine, unclassified administrative documents, and many relate to other countries in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. However, several pertain to meetings held with Vincentian officials; reports on news events in St. Vincent and the Grenadines; security checks on local companies; the visit of US congresspersons to St. Vincent and the Grenadines; reports on Trafficking in Persons; a visit by a Vincentian politician to the US Embassy seeking campaign funds and the nomination of a Vincentian woman for the 2009 woman of courage award.

On Sunday, November 28, 2010, WikiLeaks began publishing 251,287 leaked United States Embassy cables, the largest set of confidential documents ever to be released into the public domain. The cables, which date from 1966 up until the end of February 2010, contain confidential communications between 274 embassies in countries throughout the world and the State Department in Washington, DC. 15,652 of the cables are classified Secret.
