Mystique Entertainment brings back ‘Hawaiian Spring Break’ to SVG

For the second year running, Mystique Entertainment presents the highly-anticipated ‘Bottlez and Bikiniz’ beach party, under this year’s theme ‘Hawaiian Spring Break’.{{more}}

The event will take place at the private side of Mount Wynne beach on Sunday, June 19, kicking off at midday.

Lead organiser Alex ‘Kubiyashi’ Barnwell, who is employed on Mustique, said: “We’re just looking at giving people a taste of how we do things [in Mustique]… good entertainment, good people and good fun.”

He revealed that the sound system will be provided by Platinum Sounds, and deejays include Scratch Master, 2 Kool Chris and Ice Cold.

Hosted by Collin Graham and local dancehall artiste First Lady, the event will feature artistes such as Fire Empress, Mr Fusion, Problem Child, Skinny Fabulous, Galanaire, Tabia, Luta, Fireman Hooper, Jamesy P and Lil Pain (of the group Fanatics).

Regional artistes Lil Rick and Machel Montano are expected to attend, just to ‘lime’ with party-goers.

Organiser Kristell Cambridge said: “The set-up… we want to have the artistes mingling with the crowd.”

There will be drinks galore, with a variety of jello shots and premium liquor.

And, if that isn’t enough to tempt you, there will be a chef from Mustique preparing a sumptuous three-menu feast that caters to meat lovers and vegetarians alike.

And because no spring break is complete without games (and prizes), there will be blind limbo, orgy shots and rum spins. Cambridge described the rum spin as an “outer body experience”.

The VIP section, which is sponsored by Court’s High Finance team, will boast a seated area with servers and bikini girls.

Barnwell added: “It’s safe…clean…upbeat…fun. It’s not like your ‘hotty hotty’ boat ride and it’s not your extremely sophisticated crowd… just a clean, proper environment.”

Sponsors include LIME, Court’s, IK tv, Smirnoff, Island Network, Sunny Events and Tours, E-Zone and Mack’s Snacks.

Barnwell was full of praise for all the sponsors.

“The sponsors we’ve been working with so far are extremely supportive. It’s one thing to just give goods and money, then turn your back. These are people who work with you every week.”

Tickets cost $120 (VIP) and $65 (regular) and are available from Euphoria Beauty Salon, Hot 97 FM, Alex Barber Shop (Sion Hill), Pulse, and Cell World. There is an early bird special, with VIP tickets costing $100 and regular, $50.

Proceeds from the event will go towards a newly-formed initiative (in memory of Harley Cambridge) to encourage motorcycle riders to wear helmets.

Ten helmets will be purchased and donated to the Traffic Division, and made available to those applying for motorcycle licences.

Barnwell remarked that he hopes to get more sponsors involved in this initiative eventually.
