2011 Carnival view cards available

Carnival view cards for 2011 depicting scenes of Vincy Mas 2010 are now available.{{more}}

The cards, which over the years have been one of the Carnival Development Corporation’s (CDC) leading promotional tools for Vincy Mas, which takes place from June 24 to July 5 this year, also displays the programme of activities slated for the nation’s leading cultural festival.

According to the programme of activities published on the cards, this year’s event is scheduled to be officially launched on May 7, with the next event, Miss SVG, slated for Saturday May 28.

Other scheduled events include Ragga Soca on June 24, Fire Fete on June 29, Panorama on June 30, Soca Monarch on July 2, Dimanche Gras on July 3, and Mardi Gras on July 5.

The pictures displayed on these cards showcase some of the winners of a number of last year’s competitions, including Soca and Calypso Monarch, Panorama and Queen of the Bands.

A press release from the CDC, signed by Chief Executive Officer Ashford Wood, stated that the cards are being made available to the public very early, so that they can be sent to persons abroad or kept at home so that the scheduled calendar of activities can be followed.

The release says that the cards will be available at the various ports of entry, St. Vincent and the Grenadines tourism offices around the world, the National Lotteries Authority office and outlets, several business places nationwide, and also at the CDC office at Victoria Park.
