St. Vincent Team hopeful about regional quiz and reality show

Team St. Vincent and the Grenadines is hoping to be victorious in the second installment of the Gallery of Students Heroes regional integrated quiz and reality show in Barbados.{{more}}

This country is represented by Ozay Martin of the Mountain View Adventist Academy, Curtis Johnson of the St.Vincent Grammar School and Camila Neptune of the Girls’ High School. The Vincentian team in last year’s competition placed second.

The second installment of the Gallery of Students Heroes regional integrated quiz and reality show got going on Sunday, January 23, at the Barbados Hilton Hotel.

The feature address was delivered by Ronald Jones, Minister of Education and Human Resource Development.

This year’s competition sees teams from Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and St Vincent and the Grenadines compete for the crown of champion of the Gallery of Students Heroes Challenge trophy. The first round of the quiz will take place at University of the West Indies campus in Cave Hill, then move onto the Caribbean Development Bank, with the top three teams going into the challenge round to be held at the world renowned Harrisons’ Cave tourist site.

The Gallery of Students Heroes quiz, called GOSH for short, is the brainchild of the Bible Society of the Eastern Caribbean, and brings together students from all over the Caribbean in an effort to provide them with principles integrated from the Bible, an appreciation of national and regional heroes, understanding of Caribbean institutions and the role they play and recognizing the impact the Caribbean has had on the world. GOSH ultimately seeks to provide participants with decisive, visionary skills used in making the best of their innate abilities and unique Caribbean identity.

Supporters for this year’s event include LIAT, DaCosta Manning, UWI and the Caribbean Development Bank.
