Laptops may arrive by year end

Primary, secondary and post-secondary students across the country may be getting the laptops sooner than they anticipated.{{more}}

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said yesterday, Monday, November 8, that the laptops will be arriving sometime between the middle of November and the end of December.

“I was expecting this to take place by next year, but I got word from Portugal that this may happen before the end of the year,” Dr Gonsalves said.

On October 25, the prime minister had indicated that the Government of Portugal had informed him that it will deliver by January 2011 30,000 laptops to the nation’s students.

The donation of the personal computers is expected to provide one laptop for each student in the country.(DD)
