Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers visit Dame Monica
Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) programme has dispatched four new volunteers to work in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a period of two years.{{more}}
The volunteers recently paid a visit to Government House to meet the Governor Generalâs Deputy, Dame Monica Dacon.
They will work in the field of Music Education, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education and Rural Community Development.
Volunteers working in Music and Physical Education will be assigned to secondary schools in the Kingstown area, while the Roving Caregivers Programme will benefit from the assistance they will receive in Early Childhood Education through the new volunteer working in this field. The volunteer specializing in Rural Community Development will be assigned through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, to the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI).
The JOCV programme has been operating in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for seven years and is established in the neighbouring Caribbean islands of St. Lucia, Dominica and Jamaica.
