BCCU presents scholarship, bursaries to students
Once again, the Barrouallie Co-operative Credit Union (BCCU) is continuing their educational thrust by giving back to their members and by extension the community.{{more}}
The credit union has presented a scholarship and bursaries to students, of which ten are Junior Savers with the BCCU.
On Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the Annual General Meeting, one scholarship and 12 bursaries were given to students who were successful in this yearâs Common Entrance Exams.
The lone scholarship recipient was Onipha Mars, while bursaries were presented to: Philbert Barbour, Xora Solomon, Kevon John, Marlitha Scott, Kaville Hazelwood, Tiara Hepburn, Azil Jessamy, Lizann Pierre, Gidson Francis, Florissa Davis, Troi Stephen and Sandel Sandy President of the credit union, Camella Holder, encouraged the recipients to make use of the education opportunities which are available to them now, and to encourage their friends to do likewise. She also encouraged the parents of the recipients to continue to support their children by encouraging them to continue to be good Junior Savers.
