Gumbs is charged with causing the death of Gregory “Vex” Thomas of Diamond on August 5, 2010, at Canouan. He was also charged for the attempted murder of Biabou resident Adolph Delves, 34.

Thomas died at the Canouan Airport while waiting to be airlifted to mainland St Vincent to seek medical attention after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

While Thomas and Delves were travelling on a bicycle along Compton Hill, it is alleged that that Gumbs, whose vehicle was travelling in the opposite direction, pulled onto the lane in which the bicycle was travelling, causing a collision.

Thomas and Delves were at the airport waiting to be air-lifted, but the chartered SVG AIR plane that left the E.T.Joshua Airport, piloted by Captain Suresh Lakhram, never made it to Canouan.

Gumbs will re-appear in court on September 15 for Preliminary Inquiry into the matter.
