$7,000 party for de Shong

Lodge Village resident Susan de Shong will celebrate her 12th wedding anniversary this Sunday, July 18, and thanks to Digicel, 40 of her friends will get to celebrate in fine style with de Shong and her husband.{{more}}

de Shong is the winner of the Digicel June Fifa World Cup promotion dubbed ‘Rock your Block’, where persons were entered in a draw for a fully catered party when they either texted FIFA to 7171 or paid their post paid bill on time.

Marketing Executive at Digicel, Justin John, said that the promotion offered persons the opportunity to treat 40 of their friends to a fully catered party valued at some EC$7,000. The lucky winner was also given a Blackberry Gemini cellular handset.

Said John: “The party will be fully catered by Digicel. We are giving de Shong food, drinks and entertainment.”

Commenting, de Shong said that the prize came at an ideal time as she will be celebrating her 12th anniversary on Sunday.

“Although I have not yet chosen a venue, I know exactly what I am going to do. I’m gonna have an anniversary party,” said de Shong, who added: “I feel excited, great. I wasn’t expecting this, so it came as a shock to me when John called me on Monday”.

She added: “I wanna say thanks to God first of all because I feel blessed and I wanna thank Digicel for this opportunity. I have never won anything in my life and I am so excited and thankful”.

de Shong also commented: “Before Digicel came here, a lot of us could not afford cell phones and they have given us that opportunity, so again I just wanna say thank you.”

She added that she has been with Digicel for a very long time, “and I love the service”.
