James is Most Amazing Mom

Fifty-nine-year-old Thelma James is SVG’s Most Amazing Mum.

James, the winner of the 2nd annual Ezee Radio Most Amazing Mum competition, said that she was shocked when she was announced SVG’s Best Mum.((more))

The mother of six collected a variety of gifts and prizes during a ceremony on June 4, 2010, at the Chamber of Commerce conference room. Second place went to Keshian Jacobs, of Sion Hill, while Claudette Allen, of Green Hill, settled for third place.

James’ daughter Lisa Richardson submitted the winning essay detailing the challenges that her mother has endured, and how hard she works to provide for her

family.

Speaking during the ceremony, Javelle Frank, a judge of the competition, stated that the essays which were submitted by

the children of the winners were all well written.

Sales and Marketing Manager of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Broadcasting Corporation (SVGBC), parent company of Ezee Radio, Candice Sealy, added that the content of the letters reflects how observant the children are in the household as they notice the many struggles their mothers had to endure to provide for them.

Frank also mentioned that a mother does not have to endure and overcome great struggles to be considered a great mother. She noted that several essays detailed the many struggles mothers had to endure.

The women received gifts from the sponsors of the competition, including gift vouchers from Photomax and Coreas and floral arrangements from Floranium Services. James also won a makeover from Barnet Hair Studio and spa treatment from the Oasis Spa.
