Courts gives to Carnival

More Carnival components were this week the recipients of cash and other products from furniture and appliance store Courts.{{more}}

At their main office in Kingstown on Tuesday, Marketing Executive, Alexis John, made presentations to the North Leeward and Marriaqua Rural Carnival Committees, and the SVG Players International mas band.

John presented $1000 to the ‘P’tani’ Carnival Committee, which was represented by Lyn-Marie Nichols. Marriaqua Carnival continues next weekend with its Miss P’tani pageant at the La Croix Palletization Center, followed by a J’ouvert and street jump up.

Miss SVG 2009 Veronique Williams received two stereo sets on behalf of the North Leeward Committee. These gifts will be given to the first and second runners up at the Miss North Leeward Pageant which takes place next weekend. This pageant too will be followed by a J’ouvert and street jump up.

$3,500 was presented to Lance Neverson of 2006-2009 Band of the Year SVG Players International for assistance qith its 2010 production Myths of Eden.

Last week, the company made a presentation to reigning Miss SVG Aphesha Matthews and the South Leeward Carnival Committee.

In making these presentations, John reaffirmed his company’s commitment to Vincy Mas, and urged Carnival revelers to have a clean and violence free festival.
