Justin John Receives Digicel Sales Award for SVG

Eight months after joining the staff at Digicel, Justin John was called to the podium in St Lucia to receive the Sales Award for St. Vincent and the Grenadines when an award ceremony was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the St. Lucia Golf Club.{{more}}

“Spectacular,” is how Justin described his entrance into the Digicel family, coming from Karib Cable. He admits that when he arrived and his direct report, Brenda Barbour, had to be on leave due to a death in her family, he found the first days challenging.

“I had to learn a lot on my own,” he said, “but the organization and structure along with the professionalism of the staff made me feel less intimidated. Today he feels that that may also have laid the foundation for his achievement since he had to motivate himself and find his way around on his own.

Soon he was off to Blackberry training in Barbados and Customer Service training in St Lucia, helping him to put the pieces in place. “The training I received made me feel more confident and competent.” He took this confidence to interact with the network he had built up from his past involvements, and they paid dividends.

Playing tennis and spending time with his 5-year-old son is how Justin de-stresses from the demands of being a Digicel sales person. “If I had the time and the money,” he said, “I’d spend my time travelling. In fact, I’d be in South Africa for the football World Cup.”

Justin is not static. An opportunity in the Marketing department has opened and he is currently transitioning to the Marketing Executive position, something he said he is really looking forward to since his training is in Marketing.
