Dancehall meets Soca at Petit Bordel

Jamaican dancehall comes up against the very best in Vincentian Soca as ‘Dancehall meets Soca’ comes off April 30 at Cherry Hill, Petit Bordel.{{more}}

And for those who are still getting over the experience of witnessing former Portmore Empire dancehall sensation, Kim Hamilton last month, this one is expected to be bigger and better.

So says the man behind Hott Vibes promotion, Stuart ‘Rudy’ Louie.

The show features Jamaican dancehall artist Donovan ‘Mad Dog’ Lawrence teaming up with St Vincent’s own First Lady.

The likes of Soca acts like ‘Alla-G’ and ‘Landlord’ are also expected to share the stage.

Mad Dog is known for popular singles such as his hit single Early Morning.

“The show marks the end of dancehall and the taking over of Soca,” Louis told SEARCHLIGHT.

And with activities associated with Vincy Mas 2010 expected to get underway in May, the show marks the official launch of the 7th edition of ‘Soca Fest’.

Over the years, Soca Fest has developed a name for itself as one of the more prominent rural events featuring a number of top names on the local Soca scene.
