Courts Cook-Off event is back!

The second Courts Cook-Off Event will take place on Friday, April 30, after a one-year break.

This year’s event, organized by the Furniture and Appliance retail giant, will see participants preparing a dish using the vegetable carrot as the main ingredient.{{more}}

Applicants will be required to provide a recipe of their dish, which could be a starter, a main course or a dessert. Participants will have one hour to prepare their dish.

The winner will walk away with $1000, plus they will receive FREE Top brand appliances and the Courts Cook-Off Trophy.

Courts’ Marketing Executive Alexis John outlined “The competition is geared towards creating a platform whereby amateur cooks can showcase their culinary skills using top brand appliances available at our stores. Also, we wanted to bring to light the different dishes using carrots”.

John further said “Many persons have been looking forward to the competition since its inception; in 2008 there was a lot of excitement surrounding the event. Many persons were asking “When is the next Cook-off Event?”

Participants will be judged in the areas of preparation, kitchen floor skills, taste and presentation.

The Marketing Executive explained that the event was not held last year due to refurbishing of the Kingstown store.

The competition was first held in May 2008 and saw Orande “Akah” Johnson of Dasent Cottage crowned Courts Cook-off Champion.

Courts has pledged to make the initiative an annual one on its promotional calendar.
