NCB donates US$20,000 to Haiti

The National Commercial Bank (SVG)Ltd. (NCB) has made a donation of US$20,000 to the SVG Red Cross Society towards the HAITI DISASTER FUND, following the earthquake of January 12, 2010.{{more}}

Bernard T. Marksman, President of the society, received the cheque on Monday, February 8.

Cheryl Rodriguez, the NCB’s Public Relations Officer, presented the cheque on behalf of the Bank in the presence of Nandi Williams, Corporate Secretary of the state owned NCB.

A release from the NCB said the bank is “aware that the SVG Red Cross has the necessary network to disburse funds and supplies and has therefore entrusted this sum to their good office. The Bank is confident that the people of Haiti who need assistance will receive it through the International Red Cross.”

“The thought, love and prayers of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the NCB are with the Government and people of Haiti during this difficult time. It is hoped that the assistance received from countries around the world will help Haiti to enjoy comfort, peace and prosperity soon,” the release ended.
