Upstage auditions are tomorrow

The Upstage Xperience Tent will be conducting its auditions for the 2010 Carnival Season tomorrow, Saturday, February 6.

Registering officers Stephen Huggins and Ann Miller may still be contacted by prospective and current members for placement in the auditions, which shall take place at the Doris McKie Learning Resource Center, Arnos Vale, from 2:00pm.{{more}}

The tent, which burst on to the Calypso scene in 2005, has boasted some twenty-two semifinal spots in its five years of competition; members making the Big Yard on Dimanche Gras night have included GC, Ron B, Brother Ebony, Skarpyon, Bomani, and Poorsah.

Upstage Xperience has featured a unique blend of traditional Calypso, Soca, and Ragga Soca artistes in its line-up that has also included Kijahgani, former Junior Calypso Monarch Shaunelle McKenzie, Soca Monarch Skinny Fabulous, Abby, D Lanlord, Ragga Soca and Soca Monarch MaddZart, and Zolah.

The tent continues to be in the forefront of shaping the Vincentian Calypso product to rebuild interest in the art form that has been a critical and valuable component of the nation’s premiere cultural festival.
