Yuletiders bring Christmas cheer to needy

Three organizations were this week the recipients of Christmas donations compliments the Yuletiders.{{more}}

The St. Benedicts Day Nursery and Children’s Home, the Association for Persons with Disabilities and the Helping Hands Centre and The Anglican Church Feeding Programme all received $1,000 each.

Representatives from two of the organizations received their donations at a small ceremony held at the Beachcombers Hotel at Villa on Monday, December 14, 2009.

Trevor Edwards of the Association for Persons with Disabilities and the Helping Hands Centre accepted the donation on their behalf. Edwards stated that the donation will go towards assisting with the payment of school fees for the children of the Association’s special needs school.

Sister Nyra Anne Pajotte of the St. Benedicts Day Nursery and Children’s home was also on hand to accept a donation for the institution. Pajotte expressed that the money will go a long way and mentioned that it will help in the rebuilding process being done at the institution.

The Yuletiders are a group of carolers who serenade in various parts of the island. They have been giving donations to several charitable organizations and other institutions since their establishment fifteen years ago. (OS)
