Unlike the 1000-seat single theatre hall that operated at the facility prior to its closure in 2001, the newly refurbished theatre will operate two Cineplex with a capacity of 204 seats each.

“It’s as modern as you can find in the Caribbean,” said proprietor Randolph Russell, who once served as a Minister of Health here.

Accompanied by his wife Gwendoline, the Russells gave SEARCHLIGHT a tour of the theatres, and the consessions area. They promised customers a high standard of service and a friendly staff.

This weekend, two blockbuster movies will be available to movie lovers: “Jennifer’s Body”, and “Terminator Salvation”.

The couple promised to make ‘This Is It’ available as soon as they can. This is a new documentary on the last days of Michael Jackson as he prepared for the ‘This Is It’ concert.

The upgraded facility, known for Chinese movies in the 1970s, will be showing a wide array of films now, including drama, action, thrillers, adventure, and horrors, among others.

The Russells are also promising to add innovations to the facility by opening a conference centre with a seating capacity of 1,000, which will be available for rent and cultural activities. Plans are also in the pipeline to establish a food court.
