A two-day conference and exhibition marking the beginning of the Vincy Homecoming celebrations came to a successful close yesterday.{{more}}
Held at the New Public Library building, visiting Vincentians from the Diaspora, along with local businesses gathered to display their products and services and hold discussions on a number of topics of the times.
Wednesdayâs opening session saw a number of panel discussions on issues such as constitution reform, migration and development, the impact of the global financial crisis and an assessment of the local economic
realities.
Panelists included Sir Dwight Venner, Governor of the ECCB, Dr Garrey Dennie, Professor of History, St. Maryâs College of Maryland, Dr. Justin Robinson, Professor of Finance, UWI, Cave Hill, Dr. Cleve Scott, Project Officer, Oxfam, and Laura Anthony Browne, Director of Planning.
Yesterdayâs session saw presentations on the Diaspora and local consultations, which were followed by responses to the presentations and a framework for action. (JJ)
