SVG fashion designer to showcase in Barbados

Vincentian Fashion Designer Kimya Glasgow will be participating this weekend in the Absolute Caribbean Fashion Weekend, a premier fashion show in Barbados.{{more}}

The event is produced by Unique Productions of Barbados and will be hosted at the official four Diamond hotel, Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel in St James, on the luxurious Barbadian West Coast, from 23 -25 October, 2009.

The ACF Fashion weekend started as a one-day event three years ago as the Absolute Caribbean Fashion Show. It is now a premier three-day event on the region’s fashion calendar. It will feature a 150 ft catwalk and showcase top Caribbean, International and Barbadian designers.

Designers include New York based Jewel Shannon, Romero Bryan of London; Claudia Pegus, Zadd and Eastmond, Heather Jones, Mill House and Sean Griffith of Trinidad; Simon Peter, Pat Blackman, Toni Thorne, Cassandra Mottley, Navazoe, Avark and Pat Braithwaite of Barbados; and Kummba Designs of St Lucia.

Three Vincentian models – Lancelot Morgan, Jerald Johnson and Dwayne Antoine of Image Modelling Agency will also be gracing the runway of the prestigious event.

Kimya Glasgow was awarded the Country Designer Award for St Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2009 Caribbean Fashion Awards.
