LIME tops in community involvement

At the prestigious St Vincent and the Grenadines Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SVGCIC) Private Sector Dinner and Awards ceremony last Saturday, October, 10, LIME was rewarded for Excellence in Community Involvement beating four other worthy contenders into first place.{{more}}

The award was just reward for LIME’s continuous involvement in the areas of culture, environment and education as the company partners with several community groups and organizations. In the area of education, LIME sponsors four students each year for entrance into secondary school, an Internet Summer School, CXC/CSEC awards ceremony, Schools’ Public Speaking, Mentorship Program in association with the Ministry of Education and a Sales Academy.

LIME continues to support the island’s biggest cultural festivals Vincy Mas, Schools’ Drama Festival, Summer Dance Warz, Rhythm and Blues Festival, Easterval, Rural Carnivals and various other community activities.

Earlier this year, LIME launched its “Go Green” initiative which includes community activities like tree planting in association with the St Vincent Grammar School and the Arnos Vale Playing Field to mark the celebrations of World Environment Day on June 5th.

Head of Corporate Sales and Services, Cicyln Joseph, who received the trophy on behalf of LIME, commented: “This award is well deserved and this is also a celebration of our first anniversary in November since rebranded as LIME. Our manifesto spoke about working in communities and creating a better place. Our community work is second to none in culture, education and the environment especially. I am proud to be receiving this award on LIME’s behalf and our company will continue to contribute significantly to make our community a better place.”

The inaugural SVGCIC Dinner and Awards Ceremony was held under the theme “Rewarding Excellence and Innovation”. Seven awards were given to businesses ranging from People’s Choice for Customer Services, Business Excellence Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Innovator of the Year and Community Involvement.
