College and Career Exhibition October 14

For the 5th consecutive year, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association will host the College & Career Exhibition, and will do so this year in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.{{more}}

This Exhibition will take place on Wednesday, October 14, and Thursday, October 15, at the Methodist Church Hall from 9:30 am to 4:30pm. This event is free to the general public, and students of secondary and post secondary institutions are strongly urged to attend.

Local, regional and international institutions will be displaying a variety of programs, particularly in areas which are underserved in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Some of these include SVG Community College, with its exciting, reorganized and expanded programs, University of the West Indies, Trinity School of Medicine, St. George’s University, RDI, Trent University and Seneca College of Canada, and several others.

Coupled with this will be financial institutions such as National Commercial Bank and the National Insurance Services, which provide financing for higher education, so that potential students, and parents of students can come and discuss financing options for advanced education.

Institutions which provide a range of career choices will also be available, including those in the SVG Coast Guard, Special Services, and Police divisions, as well as programs offered through the SVG Cadet Corp, National ICT Divisions, and several others.

On Friday, October 16th, the SVG Medical Association will stage its 3rd Annual Pink City Walk as part of our program of raising awareness to Breast Cancer.

October is internationally Breast Cancer Awareness month. This will begin at 4pm at Heritage Square through City Kingstown and end with an educational rally at Heritage Square. Pink Caps($15) and Pink Tote bags ($20) are available the Association’s outlet at Caribbean Medical Imaging Centre, Stoney Ground.

On Sunday, October 18th, the Association will stage the formation of a Human Pink Ribbon of some 240 persons holding Pink Umbrellas – in the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Car Park, scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm. Special Pink Umbrellas at $20.00 will be sold by the Association – which will be a fundraiser to assist patients with Breast Cancer.
