Windsor celebrates 20 years

In commemoration of 20 years of academic excellence, the Windsor Primary School held a week of activities.{{more}}

To begin the week’s schedule, a church service was held on Sunday, September 20, at the Christian Life Ministries.

Monday, September 21, was perhaps one of the most exciting days, as students, along with parents and teachers, marched through the streets of Kingstown and sang lustily to the music of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Band.

Principal of the school Carol Smith said that the support from the parents and society has been excellent throughout the week. Smith noted that many persons seem to have forgotten about the school because it sits just on the outskirts of capital Kingstown.

“We wanted to do this to make people know that Windsor School is still around and will be around for some time,” Smith said.

The launch of the Parent Teacher Association was done on Tuesday, September 22, followed by a visit to the Pediatric Ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, during which students donated gifts to the children on the ward. An art exhibition was also held at the school last week Thursday, and a concert took place at the Peace Memorial Hall last week Friday evening at 7 p.m.

The curtain came down on the week of activities last weekend with a gala evening at the Grenadine House on Saturday.

A family day will be held at the Emerald Valley Casino on Sunday, October 4. (KW)
