CCETT Teachers of Excellence

Three primary school teachers and a retired headeacher from St. Vincent have been recognised for outstanding work by the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Teacher Training.{{more}}

Albena Jack, a former Grade 1 teacher at the Questelles Government School; Valarie Byron, a Grade 2 teacher at the Gomea Methodist School; Bernadine Edwards, a Grade 3 teacher of the Barrouallie Government School; and Vedette Bulze, retired headteacher of the Barrouallie Government School received the Award of Excellence.

Mavis Findlay was among reading specialists of the Eastern Caribbean who were recognised for outstanding performance in the promotion of effective literacy instruction in selected schools.

The CCETT programme has been fostering higher levels of literacy in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the past six years in six primary schools – Sandy Bay Government School, Park Hill Government, Gomea Methodist, Sion Hill Government, Questelles Government and Barrouallie Government.

The awards ceremony was held in Dominica on September 19, 2009.
