The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Lowmans Windward Anglican School will picket the Ministerial Building and the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, 26th August, 2009.{{more}}

A release from the PTA’s president Juliet Jacobs said the picket is to express the PTA’s dissatisfaction with government’s transfer of the Headteacher of the Lowmans Windward Anglican School Otto Sam, and the failure of the government officials to respond to the PTA’s request to rescind Mr Sam’s transfer in the interest of their children.

According to the release, the decision to stage the picket was taken at meetings of the PTA held on Thursday 6th and Wednesday 19th, August, 2009.

“The meeting viewed the action of the transfer at this critical time in the school development as reckless and irresponsible,” the release said.

“The PTA wonders how constituency representatives Hon Selmon Walters and Senator Caesar can be part of such a backward move and remain silent while those they represent are crying out for help,” the release said.

The release said that the PTA, while taking this step, is open to dialogue to resolve what they describe as a “harmful action” in the interest of their children and the community.
