Schoolteacher to head new Evesham Development group

A schoolteacher at the Evesham Methodist School will head the newly-formed Evesham Development Organisation.

At its inaugural General Meeting held on June 16th, Ray La Borde was elected to serve as President. {{more}} The Vice President is Marcia Wyllie; Secretary – Kamara Craigg; Treasurer – Donnette Ross; Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Susanna Ollivierre; with Dion Durrant and Alwyn Nichols as Committee Members.

The decision to form the Evesham Development Organisation came out of a series of meetings a group of residents were holding over the last two months, to discuss the developmental needs of the community.

The Organisation aims to facilitate the overall development of residents, with special emphasis on empowering young people in the areas of vocational skills training, and providing opportunities for cultural, social, sporting, and recreational expression and enrichment.

An official launch of the Organisation is now being planned for Sunday July 19th, at the Learning Resource Centre at Evesham.
