Digicel rewards a Storm and Pearl

Akeino Gurley had wanted a Blackberry Storm since it hit the market here. “I used to go to the store and look at it every chance I got,” he told Digicel’s Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche.{{more}}

Now, thanks to Digicel, Gurley, who is a waiter at the Vee Jays Restaurant, is the proud owner of the Storm, and the catch is, he got it just from texting. Gurley, who hails from Richland Park, and Natasha Thomas, of Cane End, both won themselves Blackberry handsets as part of Digicel’s text WIN to 7171 promotion. Gurley collected his Storm and Thomas her Blackberry Pearl (Flip) last Friday at Digicel’s Corporate Offices in the Sprott’s Brothers Building on Bay Street.

Gurley, who is from Richland Park, commented while collecting his Storm: “My mind was telling me that I would win it and I feel real happy because I really wanted this phone, and I am very elated.” He said that he has been using Digicel’s services for about three years.

Meanwhile, Thomas said that she is glad to upgrade her handset from the Motorola L61 to the Blackberry Pearl.

“This is great! Awesome! I wanted a more advanced phone, and this is a smart phone and is something like a mini computer,” said Thomas, who added: “Digicel will always be my number one”.
