The five-day shoot took place at various sites and properties throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines, including Young Island, Palm Island Resorts and Tamarind Beach Hotel. The Bequia leg of the shoot featured the Sergeant Brothers’ Boat Shop and Fort Hamilton; filming also took place at the Tobago Cays Marine Park, Pirates of the Caribbean film site at Wallilabou, Dark View Falls, Botanical Gardens and Fort Charlotte. The Shopping Channel feature will be aired in March on Canadian television.

Meanwhile, the SVGTA hosted two travel agents from Eden Travel Services Inc. from Ontario, Canada, on Saturday, February 7. The agents who arrived in St. Vincent on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship have been engaged in organizing cruise visits to the Caribbean for the past seven years. The team conducted site visits to several properties on St. Vincent for potential recommendation to clients; the properties visited were Grenadines House Hotel, Fairview Guest House, Beachcombers Hotel, Paradise Beach Hotel, Young Island Resort, Mariners Hotel and Rosewood Apartment Hotel. The travel agents were accompanied by Hospitality Officer Kathique Haynes and Executive Assistant Annie Nedd-Peters of the SVGTA.

The SVGTA will heighten its 2009 marketing and promotion campaign during the month of March, through its offices in St. Vincent, London, New York and Toronto, working with its regional and international PR and advertising agencies. Among the upcoming promotions in March will be the destination’s presence at the International Travel Bourse (ITB) in Germany, the Seatrade Cruise Tradeshow and Convention in Miami and the Re-Discover the Caribbean Show Tradeshow in Barbados.
