Six to contest Miss Big and Beautiful pageant

All systems are go for the 13th staging of the Miss Big and Beautiful pageant, scheduled to take place on Friday, January 30th, at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.{{more}}

Six ‘full figured’ ladies will contest the usually highly anticipated and well-attended event organized annually by Beautex International.

The contestants are Rhesa Peters, representing VSP Bridal and Gift Shop; Vanessa Clarke, Miss Hairoun Cranberry; Adah McMillan- Miss Campari; Malaika Patterson- Miss Club Calabash; Natasha Clarke, Miss Southline Beauty Salon, and Natesha Keir- Miss Natural Beads.

Beautex International head Pearl Williams, at a media launch of the event on Wednesday, January 14th, indicated that a number of surprises are in store for patrons on the show.

According to Williams, patrons will get their first glimpse of Vincy Mas 2009, as the contestants will be making an appearance in costumes for this year’s Beautex International presentation called ‘We dancing’.

Williams said that the production this year will depict dances performed here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Apart from the costume appearances, contestants will also participate in an interview, as well as appear in evening wear, African wear and perform a talent.

Last year’s winner Natasha Joseph will also make her final walk before handing over the crown to the next lucky lady.

The show, which has garnered regional and international recognition, is being sponsored by Bottlers St. Vincent Limited, St. Vincent Brewery and SVG TV.
