The RBTT Young Leaders have taken a âGreenâ approach to their 2008/2009 programme.{{more}}
The programme, which was launched at the Anglican Pastoral Centre on December 10th 2008, has as its theme: âThe Green Revolution Global Challenge, Regional Responsibility, National Focus.â The theme was conceived by the 2007/2008 Nominees for Most Outstanding Leader.
Making brief comments, Country Manager of RBTT, Isaac Solomon remarked on the importance of the theme.
âIt resonates with adults, environmental and policy makers around the world simply because of the rate and prevalence of environmental degradation around us,â he said.
The project, he said, draws attention to the many environmental disasters, which include melting of ice caps, rising of sea levels and erosion of Caribbean beaches. These examples, he added makes the theme relevant.
âThe examples are as local as they are international, which in itself makes this theme relevant,â he stated.
Solomon also urged the students to work together and make their groups as democratic as possible, allowing input from everyone. He also encouraged the students to make excellence a prevalent theme in their work.
âI expect you to autograph your work at all times with excellence.â This he says, will make their work recognizable not only as Young Leaders but throughout their entire lives.
