Summer programme for Grade 6 students
The Ministry of Education is collaborating, for the second year, with the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social Development, Youth and Sports, and the National HIV/AIDS Secretariat to respond to the climate of violence and other social ills prevalent here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines by hosting a Behaviour Modification Programme for Grade Six students from seven primary schools in Kingstown.{{more}}
Approximately thirty students are participating in the programme which is taking place at the Thomas Saunders Secondary School.
The programme began on Monday, August 04, and will end on Friday, August 22, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, daily.
The participants are involved in self esteem building exercises, conflict resolution strategies, drug prevention education, art and craft, music appreciation, dance and karate. They will also go on field trips.
The programme is being co-ordinated by Jasmine Francois-Creese, Education Officer in the area of Counselling in the Ministry of Education.
