Delany completes University studies

Dustin D.P. Delany, a member of Clarke Gittens Farmer Law Firm in Barbados, recently completed his studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago and was awarded the Legal Education Certificate from the Commonwealth Caribbean’s Council of Legal Education.{{more}}

The Legal Education Certificate qualifies Delany to practice within all the Commonwealth Caribbean territories. His Lordship Justice Frederick Bruce-Lyle on July 21, 2008, will call Delany to the Bar of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Delany, a citizen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, has been admitted to The Florida Bar, as well as multiple Federal Courts throughout the United States of America. In addition, he has been called to the Bars of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. He is formerly a partner of the Florida Law Firm of Peterson Bernard, where he handled complex litigation matters and commercial transactions for both domestic and international clients. Delany’s litigation background includes administrative, admiralty, maritime, commercial, contract, catastrophic injury, insurance, professional malpractice, product liability, bankruptcy, energy, finance, toxic torts, international law, and real estate disputes. He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.

During his undergraduate studies, Delany was a Llewellyn Jenkies Scholar at New England College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Political Science and English. He attended The Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and was selected Who’s Who Among American Law Students. Delany is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, the American Inns of Court, the Caribbean Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the International Law Section of The Florida Bar.
