Montague farms to be part of wellness revolution

If the members of the regional Fair Trade Organizations have their way, their product will soon be part of this country’s wellness revolution.{{more}}

This announcement was made by Steve Maximay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Montague Factory situated at Georgetown.

Speaking at a press conference last Friday June 6th at the Sky Blue Apartments at Indian Bay, Maximay indicated that talks were held with the Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel about having their products on the lunch tables of various schools.

“I’ve had discussions with the Minister of Education here, and she has taken to parliament a suggestion that we have Montague juices used in primary schools.”

“This is still subject to Cabinet approval, but the initial feedback has been very positive and we have had word that it will in fact receive very favorable consideration at Cabinet level.”

Maximay said that the factory, which bottles jams, jellies and juices, will also feature a factory, farm and out door museum as part of its key features.

The farm and factory is an investment by the members of the Windward Island Fair Trade Organisation, who held their board meeting here prior to the press conference. (JJ)
