Taiwan to make another bid for WHO

The government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year has again displayed its staunch and full support for Taiwan’s application for the membership of the World Health Organization (WHO).{{more}} In the coming 61st session of the World Health Assembly from May 19 to 24 in Geneva, the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines joined by other allies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in making a request that Taiwan’s Membership application be discussed.

His Excellency Cenio Lewis, High Commissioner of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, will be attending the Assembly on behalf of Hon. Dr. Douglas Slater to discuss matters of interests with other Member States of the world health body. The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association (SVGMA) has also sent a letter to the Director-General of the WHO requesting a serious and favourable consideration of Taiwan’s application from professional medical standpoints.
