George, Butcher walk across Bequia

Residents of Bequia as well as visitors to the Island gave their full endorsement to the ‘Million Dollar Walk’ last weekend.{{more}}

Confirmation of this was given through their support and donations along the route as legends Earl ‘Ole George’ Daniel and Joel Butcher, accompanied by other well wishers, walked across Bequia for the Bequia leg of the “Million Dollar Walk”. Further support was also given when the organising committee partnered with Bequia’s own ‘Country Relatives’ to thrill patrons with their wide repertoire of country music.

The ‘Million Dollar Walk’ series will move to Barbados on May 10 and will climax with the record breaking eight day walk without sleep by the two walking legends from New York to Toronto in July this year.

The Rotary Club of St Vincent South and the ‘Million Dollar Walk’ organising committee look forward to the continued support of all individuals and the business sector as they raise funds for the purchase of equipment to advance the ongoing International Hospital for Children project and allow surgeries for the children of St Vincent & The Grenadines and the wider Caribbean; this, while they facilitate the recognition of the feat of the two walking legends by the Guinness Book of Records.
