Thirty-one-year-old La Celia Prince is to be named as this country’s ambassador to the United States of America and the Organization of American States.

Dr Gonsalves made the announcement during the swearing in ceremony of 27-year-old Saboto Caesar as a Government Senator and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Lands, Local Government, and Informal Settlements, last Tuesday, April 1st, at Government House.

Like Senator Caesar, Ambassador Prince is a former National Scholar.

She has been filling the roles to which she is to be confirmed since the recall late last year of Ambassador Ellsworth John.

Ambassador John now heads the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Dr Gonsalves said that he anticipates Ambassador Prince’s appointment will be made official in a few days.

At press time Ambassador Prince could not be reached for comment. (KJ)
