Over the past few months, the Bagga Fish Fest Committee, which includes consultant Peter Edward, a St. Lucian who resides in St. Vincent, worked feverishly to plan this event. Edward has a wealth of experience having worked on a similar commitee in St. Lucia.
Consultations were held with various stakeholders including students from the primary and secondary schools in the community, businesses and community groups. A vendors Association was also formed, which is in keeping with one of the objectives of the festival, that is to provide a source of employment for residents.
These vendors were given training in customer relations and food preparation and handling and are prepared to extend a warm Bagga welcome to their visitors. Central to the repositioning of this event is the fact that this new location will provide more freedom and space for patrons and also allow for the savouring of a wider variety of fish and blackfish dishes.
A craft and fruits and vegetable stall will also be included in the line up. The Bagga Fish Fest Committee, in a press release, thanked the people of St.Vincent and the Grenadines and the many sponsors for their support and looks forward to their continued patronage.
According to the release, they aim to provide an evening of relaxation and entertainment and a dining experience youâll never forget. âRemember nobody can cook blackfish like Bagga people.â
