Singer lynx Mas Band set for launch

Another mas band is ready and set to make a go at the title of 2008 Band of the Year.{{more}}

And this Sunday at the Bay View Car Park, the First Caribbean We FM Singer Lynx mas band will give Vincentians their first look at their presentation for the hottest mas in the Caribbean entitled ‘Signs and Wonders’.

According to band leader Cornelius ‘Pete’ Thomas, the band will be looking at things that occur in our environment, and how they impact our everyday lives.

This year the band will be offering nine sections to carnival fans, with choices ranging from Abagandi, Global Warming, Shooting Star, Rainbow, Crop Circle, Sea Shell, Taurus, Eclipse and Red Sea Orchid.

During its four-year existence, the band has placed in the top three of various sections, including sections from the band and kings and queens of the band.

Sunday’s launch will feature display of costumes, along with performances by local soca artistes and dj’s.

Sponsors of the band will also be honored.(JJ)
