Leo Club donates to groups
The Leo Club of St. Vincent made donations to four groups of individuals over the last weekend.{{more}}
On Friday, February 15, 2008, a donation was made to the School for Children with Special Needs at Kingstown Park. These items included educational games, blocks, various charts, puzzles and art and craft supplies.
Rhandez Browne, Projects Chairperson of the Leo Club St. Vincent, conveyed to the Director of the institution, Fred Stay, that after spending time with the students of the school at its annual Christmas party hosted by the club, there couldnât have been a more worthy school to which the donation could be made. He assured club members present that the School was very grateful for the donation and they will be put to good use by the students.
This project was closely followed by the monthly Feeding of the Homeless which took place on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 5 a.m. This was also a successful project which saw them jointly providing the homeless individuals on the street as well as the street-cleaners with a nutritious breakfast.
Donations were also made to the Mental Hospital and the Louis Punnett Home on Saturday, February 16th. Items donated included: Toiletries, Pampers and Bath Towels. Both gifts were well received.
The LEO Club St. Vincent is a service organisation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines that is geared towards providing leadership, experience and opportunity to young people, with the ultimate goal being to give back to our community.
