3D game still tops in sales
Despite a police probe surrounding an alleged scam, The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) daily game 3D is still tops in sales.{{more}}
This is according to General Manager of the NLA, McGregor Sealy.
Sealy, when asked by Searchlight Newspaper at the handing over of cheques to winners of the Christmas promotions, indicated that at the end of the companyâs 2007 financial year (July 2007), 3D, which is played twice daily, five days a week, accounted for thirty one of the EC $36 Million netted for that period.
Late last year the NLA was rocked by a scandal involving two employees who were suspended after allegations of a $500,000 fraud in the 3D game.
Sealy refused to comment on the matter because of the police investigations that are continuing, but indicated that 3D sales are going âextremely goodâ.
He believes that Vincentians are still supporting the game because they realize that the game itself was not compromised, and they have faith in the way the draws are done.
While the GM thanks the public for supporting sports, culture, education and medicine by playing the various games, he indicated that he would like to see an increase in sales in the Lotto games, which are played on Tuesdays and Fridays.
He indicated that some time this year, the NLA plans to revamp the games, with the addition of a power ball. This he hopes would give the game a well deserved boost. (JJ)
